Description
Philadelphia Travertine is a natural stone characterized by its dense structure and layered visual texture. Quarried in select regions, this travertine features a fine to medium-grain composition with distinctive mineral banding. The stone displays a blend of tones that transition across each tile, offering movement and variation while maintaining an overall cohesive appearance. Its naturally occurring veining and layered patterns make it suitable for a variety of design styles, including transitional, traditional, and rustic interiors.
Philadelphia Travertine is available in honed and filled or unfilled finishes. The honed and filled version offers a smooth, matte surface with enhanced durability, ideal for interior spaces requiring low porosity and ease of maintenance. The unfilled finish preserves the stone’s natural cavities and surface variation, supporting applications where a raw, textured aesthetic is preferred.
Typical uses include interior flooring, wall cladding, fireplace surrounds, bathroom surfaces, and outdoor patios. As with all travertine, regular sealing is recommended to protect against staining, moisture intrusion, and surface etching, especially in high-traffic or wet areas. Each tile will display natural variations in tone and pattern, contributing to a non-uniform, organic surface that reflects the stone’s geological origins.
This material performs well in applications requiring visual depth and long-term durability.
