Zellige Border Bahia Tan

Zellige Border tiles are crafted using the same traditional Moroccan techniques as standard Zellige, with a focus on shaping transitional or framing elements that define architectural edges. Handmade from natural clay and kiln-fired, these tiles retain the surface irregularities, tonal shifts, and slight dimensional variation that characterize authentic Zellige. The narrow, linear profiles allow them to function as finishing details—outlining niches, capping wainscoting, or edging feature walls with intentional contrast or cohesion.

Each border piece carries the imprint of handcraft, including surface undulation, uneven edges, and subtle glaze pooling. These qualities make them suited for projects that value material honesty and visible workmanship. They’re best used in combination with field Zellige tiles or other natural finishes, contributing to a cohesive yet layered design narrative.

In interiors, Zellige borders serve both decorative and practical functions. They help frame tiled surfaces, define visual transitions, and offer clean endpoints for irregular layouts. Ideal for dry interior walls and low-impact installations, these trims are commonly incorporated into kitchens, powder rooms, or fireplace surrounds where detailing matters. Their use emphasizes craftsmanship and elevates the overall composition, aligning well with design aesthetics that appreciate imperfection, patina, and the character of handmade materials.
