Zellige Mosaic tiles are crafted using traditional Moroccan methods—each piece hand-formed, hand-cut, and kiln-fired to produce an array of small-format components marked by natural variation. These mosaics are composed of individually imperfect tesserae, arranged in classic patterns such as star-and-cross, basketweave, or hexagon. The surface features irregular glaze pooling, organic tonal shifts, and subtle dimensional variation, reflecting the artisan’s touch in every sheet.
Unlike machine-cut mosaics, Zellige mosaics present a tactile, layered appearance with a lived-in quality that suits both rustic and refined spaces. The tight spacing between chips minimizes grout visibility and allows the mosaic’s form and texture to take center stage. Patterns are pre-mounted for easier installation but retain the visual spontaneity of hand placement.
