Zellige Mosaic Tan-Tan Earth Brick with Silk Dot

Zellige Mosaic tiles are crafted using traditional Moroccan methods—each piece hand-formed, hand-cut, and kiln-fired to produce an array of small-format components marked by natural variation. These mosaics are composed of individually imperfect tesserae, arranged in classic patterns such as star-and-cross, basketweave, or hexagon. The surface features irregular glaze pooling, organic tonal shifts, and subtle dimensional variation, reflecting the artisan’s touch in every sheet.

Unlike machine-cut mosaics, Zellige mosaics present a tactile, layered appearance with a lived-in quality that suits both rustic and refined spaces. The tight spacing between chips minimizes grout visibility and allows the mosaic’s form and texture to take center stage. Patterns are pre-mounted for easier installation but retain the visual spontaneity of hand placement.

Zellige mosaics are ideal for small areas where texture and movement matter—kitchen backsplashes, alcoves, fireplace insets, or powder rooms. They pair well with other natural materials like stone, lime plaster, and wood, especially in interiors that prioritize patina and material richness over precision. Because each piece is unique in shape and tone, no two mosaic installations are the same, making them well suited to bespoke and highly curated spaces that celebrate craftsmanship and visual complexity.
