Working on the main floor remodel of this house has been an exhilarating journey that has reaffirmed a fundamental truth: when executed with precision, there’s no such thing as an excess of brick! Every nook and cranny of this home has been meticulously curated by the brilliant minds at OWSI, from the paint colors that dance on the walls to the warmth of the wood flooring and the allure of the stained beams. Our fingerprints can be found on the enchanting play of light fixtures, the strategic interplay of delicate thin brick, the intricate hardware choices, and the intricate layers of tiles and countertop details. It’s virtually impossible not to be swept off your feet by the sheer charm of this abode.
As we embarked on the design odyssey, OWSI made a bold decision to embrace the robust charm of brick walls throughout the residence, infusing it with an undeniable natural harmony. Our canvas for creativity stretched from the cozy confines of the Kitchen to the sophisticated Dining Room and the tucked-away Butler’s Pantry, extending its embrace to encompass the exterior walls. A masterstroke was our “Washed and Sloppy” technique, wherein we lavishly coated the thin brick with a carefully selected grout, infusing each wall with an age-old patina that whispers tales of antiquity.
This endeavor wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was a conquest over the challenge of imbuing fresh bricks with a timeless allure. Our determined efforts bore fruit, as these bricks now tell a story of seasoned grace.
Our journey saw us dance with design challenges, pirouetting around 90-degree angles to consistently embellish walls with the embrace of brick. In a harmonious duet with the architecture, we graced the Kitchen and Dining Room with brick above the cabinetry, ensuring seamless continuity and a nod to the rustic elegance of exposed brick.
Masculine strength met soft feminine finesse in the Kitchen, where the backsplash narrated a tale of 6×6 Dahlia Pearl Marble intricately squared, harmonizing with the regal Taj Mahal Countertop, as if a sonnet whispered by artisans from eras past. Even the intricate labyrinth of grout was tamed with a strategic grout boost, enabling both grace and practicality to flourish.
In the master bathroom, elegance unfurled its wings, starting from the very earth it stood upon. Arista White Marble, a 12×12 marvel, danced in unison with the Carrara 3×15 Picket, an exquisite duet that painted the walls in a canvas of timeless depth. The freestanding tub became the magnum opus, adorned by the Eifel Grey Mosaic, crowned by a starburst pendant that showered golden light upon opulence. Behind this partition, the master shower wove its symphony, a tapestry of 4” Arista White Marble Hexagons and the 12×24 Arietta (M) Porcelain tiles, the very embodiment of contemporary geometry. The Eifel Grey Mosaics, like whispered secrets, graced the niches, a tender reminder that even the most intricate details matter.
The pièce de résistance emerged in the form of a fireplace, inspired by our client’s reveries of elegance. Undaunted by the challenge, we orchestrated a stunning ballet with natural slabs, navigating the labyrinth of sizes, veins, and textures. To transcend mere design, we brought forth the Seychelles Galapagos Shell Mosaic, a modern bridge that seamlessly united the elements. A functional fireplace emerged, rising from the heart of a natural stone slab, an embodiment of beauty and utility hand in hand.
At
OWSI, we ventured into each design element with a mission to marry form,
function, and ambiance. Every step, from conception to meticulous installation,
was a testament to our unwavering dedication. The culmination of our efforts
harmonized into a symphony of design, echoing the reverie of our client’s
“most beautiful dreams,” resonating in every corner of this
resplendent home.
